Rotary Swaging:

Felss offers different rotary swaging machine systems that are designed to match specific requirements. First one needs to distinguish between in-feed swaging and recess swaging. In-feed swaging is used to reduce the outer diameter of the work piece. If other geometries are required like grooves, transition angles higher than 10°, hexagon, ball shape, recess for part clamping etc. then recess swaging machine technology will be required.

The swaging machine comes in different sizes that fit the workpiece requirements. The smallest machine offers in-feed swaging of Ø0.4 mm parts and the largest machine can swage parts up to Ø120 mm depending on the wall thickness of the tube.

The swaging machines are offered with and without NC control. However, most machines are with NC control that ensures higher flexibility, higher process efficiency, better process repeatability, and improved part quality - all leading to overall lower production costs.

Axial Forming:

The axial forming machine (named Aximus) comes as single machines designed for either a vertical forming process of parts with a maximum length of 400 mm, or a horizontal forming process for parts up to 1500 mm in length. Both machine types can be integrated into transfer lines for example fed with a turned workpiece.

The axial forming machine can also be offered as a single stage machine unit that usually takes part of a transfer line setup. However, this machine option is offered on a case-by-case basis only.
